Current Projects : Arcadia Wash Naturalization Study, City of Arcadia

Arcadia Wash courses through the historic Los Angeles Arboretum and the Santa Anita Racetrack on its way to join the Rio Hondo.  With a generous grant from the Lower Los Angeles and San Gabriel River and Mountains Conservancy, Amigos will study the feasibility of naturalizing parts of this historic section of the channel.  At this section, Arcadia Wash weaves through the arboretum, parking lot at the racetrack, and the Santa Anita Golf course.  With approximately 22 acres of open space, incredible potential exists for landscaping with native habitat, trail development, and restoration of the original meanders.
