Current Projects : Rio Vista Park Rehabilitation, City of El Monte

Amigos and the City of El Monte hope to develop Rio Vista Park into a living historical, cultural, and educational space by returning to its original historic state. Under a grant administered by the Lower Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers and Mountains Conservancy, Amigos is rehabilitating and expanding Rio Vista Park in the City of El Monte. Amigos will work closely with the school district and local history/cultural organizations and other stakeholders to develop an educational, historic, and cultural theme for the park. Designs for the park feature native drought-tolerant landscape, educational displays, and a small teaching area that teachers from the adjacent Rio Vista School can use as an outdoor learning environment.
