Lashbrook Park, completed in 2006, is a 1.8 acre site located on the Emerald Necklace along the east bank of the Rio Hondo Class A bike trail within Army Corps of Engineers jurisdiction. Funding for the park was provided by Supervisor Molina's Greening Institute. Specimen trees were donated by Valley Crest and additional materials and in kind services were provided by local businesses and community members.
The site was cleared of debris and regarded to create a vegetated bioswale that winds through the length of the site. The plant palette is native to the watershed. Plant signage and interpretive elements are in the Tongva language. Amenities include picnic areas, benches, wayfinding signage and water fountain as an oasis for local community and regional trail users.
